"No one can whistle a symphony. It takes an orchestra to play it." ~H.E. Luccock

Do you want to change your life? Here's how...

You may find process group therapy helpful if you want to learn new ways to interact, assert yourself, communicate or if you are struggling with an ongoing problem. Either way, process group therapy is useful because members can take risks and share their common feelings in a nonjudgmental setting.

Why Group Therapy?

In a process group therapy setting at A Safe Place to Heal six to ten people meet face-to-face with one or more trained group therapists and talk about what is troubling them. Members also give feedback to each other by expressing their own feelings about what someone says or does. This interaction gives group members an opportunity to try out new ways of behaving and to learn more about the way they interact with others. What makes the situation unique is that it is a closed and safe system. The content of the process group sessions is confidential; what members talk about or disclose is not discussed outside the group. Group therapy can help you:

  • Gather insight into the ways others perceive you!
  • Regain effective patterns of relating to others
  • Receive support for sharing common problems
  • Develop more satisfying relationships
  • Learn how to apply new behaviors to situations outside the process group
  • Awaken self-awareness and self-esteem
  • Last but not least...form goals!
