Jeana Nelson, MA, LPC
I
attended Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma and graduated in 1987 with a Bachelors degree of Science in Kinesiology Education. As part
of my teaching career, I taught the "In-School Suspension Class" and was first introduced to the juvenile justice system and
its program for troubled teens.
In 1991, I returned to Southern Nazarene University to continue my education
motivated by my new desire to help others find healing and peace in the midst of their personal storms. While earning my Masters
in Marriage and Family Counseling, I worked at the college, counseling college students and at the local in-patient adolescent
unit as an intern therapist. I was a support therapist for self harm groups and survivors groups.
In
1996, I worked with the special population of adoption and foster children at Eagle Ridge Institute as a therapist and case
manager and eventually a program manager. Continuing on the same trend, I moved to developing a program called C.H.I.L.D.
SHARE that recruited and developed foster and adopted homes from the religious community. I was also a full time Masters Level
therapist at which time our counseling center was located one block from the bombing site of the Oklahoma City bombing. Our center had a special outreach to victim’s families.
In
2001, as a Licensed Behavioral Practitioner, I was the Coordinator for the Developmental Disabilities Services foster care
programs as well as a full-time therapist specializing in children, adolescents and family therapy.
In
2003, I moved back to Arkansas and joined Counseling Associated
Inc. as a Licensed Professional Counselor. My family and I moved to McKinney
in August of 2006 and I joined A Safe Place to Heal shortly thereafter. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas # 62982 and a certified teacher in Psychology and Sociology. I
enjoy working with relationship issues, abandonment and identity issues, attachment syndromes, depression, family systems,
marriage and couples therapy, and Christian spiritual recovery.

Nikki Causey, M.Ed., NCC, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional
Counselor, receiving my Masters of Education in Community Counseling in 2001 from Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. I received my BA in Psychology from the University of Mississippi in 1990.
Since graduating in 1990, I have
worked the majority of my career in a community mental health setting which has provided me with the opportunity to gain experience
working and treating a wide range of mental disorders. I have been fortunate to work with a broad spectrum of people
in need; children, adolescents, and adults from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences. Recovery and reconciliation
to a better life have been a constant goal. Although a great many similarities exist in mental health issues, each person
is a unique being and should be approached with that in mind throughout treatment.

Jeana Herndon,
MA, NCC, LPC
I was awarded my Master of Arts degree Summa Cum Laude in Community Counseling with an emphasis in addictions
from Appalachian State University in Boone,
North Carolina.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University.
I have been in the helping profession since 1992. I have had experience as a rape crisis counselor, crisis pregnancy
counselor, eating disorder prevention specialist, substance abuse counselor, and mental health counselor. I am fortunate
in that I have always known what I wanted to do with my life and have been on a steady path since my freshman year of college.
This has given me a chance to experience various types of counseling approaches and with varying populations. As a result,
I know the specialties I have chosen to focus on as a professional counselor are the ones I have a great deal of experience working
with and a deep level of understanding.
